Maintenance Technician/Fabricator
HDI is currently looking for a Maintenance Technician/Metal Fabricator.
This is a full-time position working in our Lancaster County manufacturing facility.
The Maintenance Technician role is an integral part of the team, as this role supports troubleshooting down machinery, completes preventative maintenance, handles minor general building repairs, and performs various fabrication duties as needed.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair machines and equipment in accordance with established manufacturing procedures in a timely manner.
Includes CNC machines, manual machinery, and various tools, including their associated electrical and instrumental control panels.
Responsible for diagnosing issues with machines and researching/contacting the appropriate vendors to source and price parts, factoring in the best possible costs and lead times.
Strive to prevent and minimize equipment downtime.
Report problems with equipment, leaks, and other deficiencies and act as needed.
Assess operational state of equipment, filters, oil, hydraulics, compressors, motors, pumps, and electrical systems and determine course of action if needed.
Read and interpret shop drawings, project plans, blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams.
Operate metal working equipment including saws, drill presses, punch presses, bar and pipe benders, brakes, grinders, and polishers, along with a variety of portable and hand tools.
Utilize knowledge of machinery and equipment, mathematics and other physical sciences to complete repairs and fabrication as necessary.
Perform fabrication duties as assigned.
Requirements:
General knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Experience with troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
Ability to learn and understand manufacturing processes and ability to inspect and repair or replace components.
Knowledge of tooling and fixtures is a plus.
Experience in stainless steel fabrication, including cutting tube, grinding, polishing, bending, and assembly is a plus.
Proficient in reading and following blueprints, manuals, and mechanical and electrical schematics.
Mechanical aptitude.
Ability to use and understand a tape measure, caliper, protractor, and related tools.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry and understanding of both metric and imperial systems of measurement.
Ability to use logic and reasoning to troubleshoot and solve practical problems.
Ability to safely lift up to sixty pounds.
Ability to maintain consistent, punctual, and regular attendance Ability to be extremely safety conscious and adhere to all safety processes and procedures.
Ability and willingness to follow and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening which includes a drug screen and reference checks.
